PROCEDURE

Creating Accessible Web Pages
The most important points to remember in making your pages accessible are identified on the Web Accessibility Standards page of the Accessibility of Information Technology web site. The expectation is that web pages created after January 1, 2002 will incorporate these standards.

Modifying Legacy Web Pages
Existing University web pages should be updated to meet the Web Accessibility Standards according to the Web Accessibility Standards - By Priority and Time Expenditure chart. The chart provides specific dates for expected revisions.

The chart and time frames represent goals for the implementation of this policy.

Acquiring Accessible Software and Hardware
Steps to follow for acquiring accessible hardware and software are built into the University purchasing processes. If you have specific questions you can contact Purchasing Services at 612-624-2828. Indicate to Purchasing Services that technology accessibility specifications apply when the purchasing requisition is completed.

Meeting the Technical Needs of persons with Disabilities
If any University faculty, employee or student needs individual assistance for access to information technology, they should contact the following resources.
