POLICY STATEMENTThe University of Minnesota does not post degrees for students, on any campus, with financial obligations equal to, or in excess of, $100. This includes all retroactively conferred degrees. Once a student satisfies his or her financial obligation, the degree will be posted using the original date the degree would have been conferred. REASON FOR POLICYThe University of Minnesota expects students to meet their financial obligations to the institution, both during their enrollment and upon graduation. Withholding the degree is consistent both with the University of Minnesota's expectation that students fulfill their financial obligations and with the practice of withholding diplomas for students with financial obligations.
